I am sorry for taking so long to write my thoughts, Martha, but it has taken me this long to really process all of our activities. I was completely changed as a person from our delegation. I think that you already know this from our long talks, but I will say it again and again. I was, before our delegation, already a big supporter of the labor movement, (I hate that phrase) but our trip to Mexico has made me realize the importance of uniting ALL workers in the worst war of all, against corporate greed, capitalism, and exploitation. I now understand and have a new respect for the land and realize that the struggle is not just for the people, or workers, but also for the preservation of the environment. Without the land there is no reason to even fight for the people. Mexico is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever been, both because of its people AND its land.
La lucha para la igualdad en el mundo es la lucha por la gente y por la tierra.
(The Struggle for Equality in the World is the Struggle for the People and our Land.)
